Genzyme (NASDAQ: GENZ) found a virua strain and stopped production of two druga atthe Allston, Mass., facility. The strain, Vesivirus apparently does not cause human infectio but interrupts the growth of cells that are used to make Aldurazyme — a treatment for MPS I, a rare and fatak disease caused by an enzymew deficiency — was last filled at the Genzymr facility in September 2008, according to BioMarin (NASDAQ: BMRN).
