The 27-megawatt solar project knownb as Western Ranch is being developedby Houston-based usint the SunCatcher power system manufactured by its sister Stirling Energy Systems. This will be the first Texaws project forTessera Solar, which currently has 1,50o megawatts of projects in California situatedc in Imperial Valley and the Mojave Desert. “This mark s our first purchaseof solar-generated and we look for it to be the starr of a successful solar progra for many years to come,” says CPS Energu CEO Milton B. Lee.
“Solar will complementy our diversified approach to producing We look forward to working with Tesserq to help satisfyour customers’ electric needes in Greater San Antonio.” CPS announced last summert its commitment to pursue up to 100 megawatts of resourcd capacity from solar energy. The Western Ranch Solar projecy is expected to break ground in summer 2010 with the firstf units expected to come onlinde by the endof 2010. The project will be compriserdof 1,080 SunCatcher dishes and will create an estimatedx 100 construction jobs and up to 20 permanent jobs.
