The college has raised more than $3 million in privatew donations to supplementthe $54 million in state fundxs previously earmarked for the project. Those donations includwe $100,000 from 61 UAlbanty alumni at theErnstf & Young accounting and professional services firm and the Erns t & Young Foundation. The college previously receiveda $525,000 donation from the Deloitte Foundation and UAlbany alumnu employed by Deloitte companies. UAlbany now has less than $7 million to raise before it reachesaits $64 million goal to financr the new business school.
“The partnership between UAlbany’s school of business and its alumni demonstratesd howthe public-private model leverages resources that otherwisr wouldn’t be available,” new SUNY Chancellor Nanc y Zimpher said. The new schoolk will serve as an intellectual hub for business faculty and professionals in the region and throughout the Zimpher said. The college is hoping to the new business school will be completedby 2013. It is not yet clearf when the school is planningy to search for contractors or when constructionwill Perkins+Will, which has offices in 18 U.S. has planned or designed businesa schools around the country including theLeonard N.
